About 簡介

A sociologist of health and social policy, concerned with how institutions distribute risk and protection across a life — and with what women face once they retire.

Fang-Yi Huang

Current position

Fang-Yi Huang 黃芳誼

Fang-Yi Huang is Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Soochow University, Taipei, where she also serves as Director of the Personnel Office and Executive Director of the AI and Society Research Center. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Florida, and previously held positions at Yuan Ze University and Academia Sinica.

Her research spans medical sociology, social welfare legislation and social policy, and gender studies. Recent work concentrates on gender gaps in pension systems, and on old-age economic security for non-standard workers and older women — extending into the consequences of artificial intelligence for social welfare.
